Domestic Space, Dappled Light and a Modern Take on Tenebrism..............

I can't say that I have been bored studying this degree! Another 2nd year unit saw me investigating my domestic space. Seeing that apart from my arty spaces, the kitchen is where I spend the most time, I used that as inspiration for my work. We were still living in our home at Sheffield at the time. These are my favourite outcomes from this part of the unit.

The next part of the unit was all about dappled light. We were instructed to take photos that clearly demonstrated the properties of dappled light, manipulate our favourites in Photoshop, then paint them. Two paintings were required for this exercise and seeing I had chosen inside for the last exercise, I ventured outside for this one.

The final exercise was to take a modern look at the technique of tenebrism, using a modern still life. I love books and hate the thought that they are going out of style, being replaced by Kindles.
